Learn to Swim Program at Santiago Canyon College - Group descriptions
Parent and Me: (6 - 36 months) Adult required in the water, learning ways to assist the child and teaching them basic water skills.
Starfish (3-6 years) Water entry, floating, kicking, basic strokes, turns and water safety. Most children repeat this course several times until they feel comfortable in the water
Sea Horse (5-6 years) Must be able to do one lap of freestyle unassisted. Children will work on stroke technique, flip turns and competition starts and finishes.
Little Dolphins (6-9 years) For beginner/ intermediate swimmers. Children will be separated by ability and will work on various skills while improving technique in all four strokes.
Dolphins: (6-13 years) Must be able to swim four laps unassisted. Instruction will focus on building endurance and stroke technique. Includes instruction on starts, turns and finishes
